Vancouver – Vancouver Police have notified the Independent Investigations Office of BC after a man died this afternoon in a police-involved shooting.
VPD officers responded at around 4 p.m. to a 9-1-1 call of a dispute between two neighbours near Rupert and Vanness Avenue. When officers arrived, they encountered a man with a weapon and the suspect was shot by police.
Paramedics attempted to revive the suspect, but he subsequently died at the scene. No police officers or other members of the public were injured.
The Independent Investigations Office is now investigating the police-involved shooting.
