Vancouver – Vancouver Police are requesting the public’s help to locate 43-year-old Omid Mashinchi and 40-year-old Amir Navarchi, both wanted Canada-wide in connection with a large-scale drug trafficking investigation.

Project Torque began in November 2021, focusing on a kilogram-level drug-trafficking operation that was based in Vancouver, and operating both domestically and internationally.

Following a three-year long investigation, six people—including Mashinchi and Navarchi—were arrested and charged. Investigators seized more than 200 kilograms of hard drugs valued at approximately 16 million dollars, along with seven firearms, and $500,000 in cash and jewelry. All six suspects were released pending an ongoing investigation.

In June 2024, BC Prosecution Services approved charges and four of the six suspects have since been located and arrested. Both Mashinchi and Navarchi are still at large and are facing the following charges:

Omid Mashinchi:

  • One count of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
  • One count of possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Two counts of possession of a firearm

Amir Navarchi:

  • One count of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence

Mashinchi is 5’7″, 165 pounds, and has a medium build. He is known to have a shaved head and wears eyeglasses.

Navarchi is 5’7″ and 190 pounds. He has a heavy build and short hair.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Omid Mashinchi and/or Amir Navarchi is asked to call investigators at 604-717-0505.
