Canada’s 25 Most Wanted Fugitives
Vancouver – A man wanted in a large-scale drug trafficking investigation that spanned three years and resulted in charges against six people is among those featured in the latest iteration of Bolo Program’s Top 25 list of Canada’s most wanted fugitives, unveiled today alongside Vancouver Police Department and 14 other police agencies from across the country.
Omid Mashinchi is wanted for conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and two counts of possession of a firearm. He is number 13 on Bolo Program’s new Top 25 list.
In an effort to grab the attention of potential tipsters, the announcement was accompanied by 25 models sporting “spoof masks” bearing the faces of the 25 wanted suspects.
“This display of fugitives may make some feel uncomfortable,” says VPD Superintendent Dale Weidman. “I encourage you today to sit in that discomfort and think about what role you can play in bringing these fugitives to justice. We aren’t looking for witnesses to these crimes. We don’t need people to testify in court. We just need to know where these people are.”
“Make no mistake — these dangerous individuals are somewhere among us, right now,” said Bolo Program Executive Director Maxime Langlois. “So they will remain this afternoon, tonight, tomorrow, and next week if we don’t do something. Today, together, as a nation, we’re sending the message that we’re on the lookout for them.”
Omid Mashinchi is 5’7″, 165 pounds, and has a medium build. He is known to have a shaved head and wears eyeglasses.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of either of these men is asked to call investigators at 604-717-0505.
The Bolo Program was launched in May 2018 by the Stephan Crétier Foundation as a way to amplify priority wanted notices issued by Canadian police services.
