Vancouver – A suspect has been charged following a Vancouver Police investigation into a series of assaults in Yaletown on October 10.

Earlier today, the B.C. Prosecution Service approved one count of assault against 35-year-old Tamara Hamelin.

Vancouver Police initiated an investigation last Friday, following reports that a number of people had been assaulted by a stranger near David Lam Park around 7:30 a.m. Investigators released images and video of a suspect, and made an arrest Sunday night after receiving information from the public that led to her identification.

The VPD investigation is ongoing.

Hamelin remains in custody.
