Vancouver – Vancouver Police are investigating a fatal collision last night in the Downtown Eastside, and are asking anyone with information to call police.
A 62-year-old man was crossing mid-block near East Hastings Street and Jackson Avenue when he was struck by a red Kia SUV around 7:23 p.m. Despite life-saving attempts from first responders, the man died before being transported to hospital.
The driver of the Kia remained at the scene.
The cause of the collision is still being investigated.
