Vancouver – A Vancouver Police investigation has led to the arrest of a suspect, who has now been charged with second-degree murder in the alleged homicide of a Downtown Eastside resident two weeks ago.

VPD’s Homicide Unit initiated an investigation on November 28, after the 45-year-old victim was assaulted by a stranger near Gore and Powell Street around 3 a.m. Following a two-week investigation, police identified and located a suspect, who was arrested Sunday evening near Main Street and Terminal Avenue by VPD.
