Vancouver – A 45-year-old suspect has been charged following an investigation by Vancouver Police into two armed robberies near Olympic Village last week.
Vancouver Police received a report around 8:44 a.m. on December 12 that a man with a knife had robbed a coffee shop near Quebec Street and East 2nd Avenue. As officers were responding, police received a second call about a robbery that had just occurred at a neighbouring business on Quebec Street.
Vancouver Police located a suspect in the area and took him into custody.
James Roderick Hinton, 45, has now been charged with two counts of robbery and one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Hinton remains in custody.
