VancouverA suspect has been charged with assault with a weapon, after Vancouver Police arrested him for allegedly brandishing a knife at a stranger on West Hastings Street Saturday morning.

Vancouver Police received a report at 9:48 a.m. on December 27th from a person who said he was walking to work and confronted the suspect who was allegedly spray painting near West Hastings and Hamilton Street. The suspect allegedly sprayed towards the person with paint, then brandished a knife.

The person was able to call 9-1-1 for help and direct Vancouver Police to the suspect, who was taken into custody nearby.

Christopher Charles Hudson, 50, has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of mischief under $5,000.

Hudson has been released on bail by the courts.
