Vancouver – A suspect has been charged with assault causing bodily harm after allegedly punching a fast-food cook who wouldn’t give him a free add-on to his burger.
At approximately at 7:05 p.m. on January 12, a 23-year-old man was working at a fast-food restaurant on Granville Street when a customer allegedly wanted free bacon added to his burger. When told that he’d have to pay for the add-on, the suspect allegedly went behind the counter, into the kitchen, and punched the cook in the face.
The worker sustained a serious facial injury that required medical attention.
The suspect fled, but was chased by another staff member and arrested outside the restaurant by members of the Vancouver Police Metro Team, which was in the area for an unrelated incident.
The BC Prosecution Service has now charged 24-year-old Jaxon Andre Carter with one count of assault causing bodily harm.
