Vancouver – A suspect has been arrested by Vancouver Police and charged with sexual assault in connection with an incident that occurred in the Downtown Eastside on January 8.
Vancouver Police responded around 6:30 a.m. to a report that a woman in her 60s had been sexually assaulted by a man inside a residential building close to East Hastings Street and Columbia Street.
Following an investigation, the suspect was taken into custody by Vancouver Police.
Mark Edward Grant, 62, has been charged with one count of unlawful confinement, one count of sexual assault with a weapon, one count of assault with a weapon, and one count of uttering threats.
Grant remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
