Vancouver Police are investigating the city’s 9th traffic fatality of 2012 after a man driving a motorcycle was involved in a single vehicle collision.

Shortly before 6:00 in the evening on July 21st, a 44 year old man riding an unlicensed motorcycle east in the unit block of East Waterfront Road lost control of his motorcycle after striking a curb and collided with a concrete barrier. The man was taken to hospital where he tragically died from his injuries.

The identity of the victim is being withheld as efforts to notify next of kin are being made.

Investigators are looking into the speed of the motorcycle prior to the accident. Alcohol is not considered to be factor at this stage in the investigation.
