A pedestrian has succumbed to her injuries following a March 4th collision that sent the woman to hospital.

Around 9:30 in the morning on March 4th, a 52 year old Vancouver woman was crossing north on Hastings at Princess Street when she was struck by a pickup truck that was travelling west on Hastings.

The woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening at that time.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with the police investigation.

Police have now learned that the women has tragically succumbed to her injuries in hospital. Her name is not being released at the request of her family.

The investigation is ongoing and alcohol and speed are not considered factors in the collision.

This is Vancouver’s third traffic-related fatality of 2013.
