One man is in custody and officers with the Vancouver Police Major Crime Section are investigating after a physical dispute resulted in the death of an elderly Vancouver resident.
Shortly after 7:00 this morning, two men became involved in an altercation on McGill near Windermere Street. One of the men was allegedly pushed and fell to the ground. Paramedics arrived and spoke with the victim who was conscious and took him to hospital suffering from a head injury.
The man’s condition quickly deteriorated and he was pronounced dead in hospital.
The victim has been identified as 80 year old Yee Wong of Vancouver. Police continue to investigate and have arrested a 45 year old Vancouver man in connection to Wong’s death.
