At about 2:45 p.m. on August 7th, police were called by Vancouver Fire and Rescue Service after they responded with the BC Ambulance Service to a home on East 5th avenue near Nanaimo Street for a medical call.

An 89 year old man was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. He died the next day.
