A VPD police officer has been sent to hospital after a motorcyclist struck him and lost control at the north end of the Knight Street Bridge.
The officer was standing near his motorcycle shortly after 11:30 this morning attempting to flag over the motorcycle operator for speeding, when the driver allegedly struck the officer in an attempt to avoid the police.
The injuries to the officer and the motorcycle operator are serious, but not believed to be life-threatening. Both remain in hospital.
