Earlier this week, a customer had an argument with staff at a 24-hour restaurant about service. Another customer waiting in line, intervened, arguing with the first customer, and allegedly pulling out an extendable baton. He extended it, hitting the man in the face and causing a swollen nose and a black eye.

Both men left the restaurant and the victim later reported it to police. Officers went to the restaurant and reviewed video of the assault. Approximately five hours after the incident, staff from the restaurant called 9-1-1 when they spotted the suspect.
Police located him and he was arrested for assault with a weapon. The baton was seized.

The victim was treated in hospital for his injuries.
